Future Naval Warfare: Why Aircraft Carriers Are Obsolete

Did you see that China just unveiled a drone carrier? Yeah, sure. And I mean, we can build things. Years ago, a man named Andy Krych talked about an Arsenal ship. And it looked sort of like a monitor, if you remember the monitor from the Civil War. Yeah, yeah. It sat very low in the water. It was almost a semi-submersible for all intents and purposes. And it was designed to launch missiles. That was it. That's what it did. It showed up, uh, at some location at some time. It was very difficult to track and find, and it launched. I think we're going to end up doing that sort of thing, and I think you'll see something very much like drone carriers. The point is that this old aircraft carrier battle group structure that is a centerpiece of naval power is ultimately going to change. It's going to go away. You're going to end up with other things.
