Andy Wakefield Unveils New Book: Autism, Survival, and a Mother's Plea

Well, it's it's again, I'm honored to have you on and I understand that you have just published a new book. And I wanted to get you on to talk about that book because it's something very different from from the normal books, isn't it? I mean, tell us about it. Very different. Yes, it's it's a fiction, a fictional story, but based on a true story. And and that true story is fascinating in itself. Um, many years ago, about 2010, I was giving a lecture at a conference on autism in the US. And um, that night, a mother who had helped organized the conference, a mother of a single, um profoundly autistic teenager, nonverbal, um, regressed the very day that he he received his MMR vaccine. Uh, she took me out for dinner. And she asked me over dinner if I would father a child for her. Now, you may think what a very strange thing to bring up on Mike's show, but her motives were most sincere. She wasn't interested in a night of passion with Andy Wakefield.
