America's Decline: The Peril of Isolation

The moral reputation of the country is in the dumps right now. And, you know, there's even something very interesting from the world of of science, of anthropology. And I don't recall the author, I apologize, but I read part of a paper recently that showed that ancient cultures that were isolated, they did not advance. But ancient cultures that then made contact with other cultures, then had kind of what you you would call in genetics, sort of the sexual reproduction of ideas, which is the, you know, the combination and advancement of ideas that led to advanced societies. And so what you just said, professor, is really critical for people to understand. If America becomes isolated from the rest of the world, then we prune all of those potential branches of development and innovation or technology or even, you know, cultural advancement, and then we go backwards in time. And we're seeing that. Look at America's airports and roads and bridges are falling down, our education system is a nightmare, our democracy barely functions, our court system hardly works, our currency is losing value every day.
