Are Tech Platforms the New Banks? Data vs. Money.

Banks have always lent a person's money to other customers. And today, tech platforms are doing what banks have always done, just with data instead of money. Would you guys agree with that? Well, yeah, but there, I mean, they're gathering and selling the data. Yeah. Among other things, weaponizing it. Right, right, Ed? Well, that is true, but I'm trying to think of it if the process can be related to a monetary system, a buy and sell thing. I still see it as a market relationship. You create a product and you sell it. Is that not true? No, what I'm what I'm thinking about is that uh the tech platforms, we are in essence, by using these platforms, providing our own information. We're voluntarily entering it in. Think Facebook, think everything. And then they're harvesting it and selling it to other uh tech organizations and platforms to be able to monetize it. So I was just thinking that there was a parallel in the fact that, you know, we lend money to banks and then they rehypothecate, right? They they uh they lend it to others and sell it to others and make money off it with ...
