US vs. China AI: Open Source Software, Hardware Gap, & Cultural Divide

Let's talk about AI because uh I'm I'm a big fan of open source AI. I'm an AI developer. You know, I've developed numerous platforms that are very popular. And I I love the open source models that come out of China. Uh Deep Seek is supposed to be releasing version 4 soon. Uh Quen from Alibaba is well known. In fact, I just downloaded Quen 3.6 and they have uh really great coding models, et cetera. Uh US AI companies have gone more kind of closed, secretive, like, let's do contracts with the government and not really, like Anthropic is taking away Claude Code from most of its customers right now. Things like that. So I see this weird thing happening where China is is still open source. Let's put it out there for free, put it on GitHub, and it's good. It's good stuff. It's not like subpar tech. But then the US AI companies are all, they're not publishing the science papers. You know, the best science papers are coming out of Deep Seek, like sparse attention papers, you know, uh manifold constrained hyperconnections, all this kind of stuff. What's going on, Eric?
